DIRECTOR
Penny has been employed at West Virginia University since 2014. She has worked as a lead academic adviser, instructor and program coordinator for the Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS). Currently, she serves as the Director of the Center for Veteran, Military and Family Programs at WVU.
Penny Lipscomb enlisted in the Army Reserves while still in high school. Her duty assignments included 445th Med Co in Fairmont, West Virginia; 80th TC in Richmond, Virginia; and 32 Sig BN in Hanau, Germany, where she served full time. In addition to her service, Penny was the spouse of an active duty Army service member for 23 years, and has dedicated her time supporting soldiers and their families.
Her educational background includes: Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Fairmont State University, Master of Science in Adult and Continuing Education and a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising, both from Kansas State University.
